Today I fly fished the weber from 21st St to 24th st areas in Ogden. Waited all summer for the water to drop. It is now clear and there are excellent runs and pools with structure. Here is my question though.....are there any fish....I thought I might score a big brown...but nada. Did all the fish move way upstream to spawn or something.
Any suggestions anyone, or has anyone experienced the same problem with this section. I just can't seem to figure the Weber out..lol

there fish down there, but not tons, i fish in the deserted area below 30th street. not tons of fish but really big ones. last summer i scored alot of little rainbows, as well as a 6lb brown, 2 4lb browns, and a 5lb rainbow. right above 24th theres alot of rainbows. I use rooster tails and rapalas. but for big fish i go just past fort buenaventura up river.

I grew up just up the street from there and used to ride my bike to go fish it as a kid. there is just about every species down there. browns and white fish are in the middle of their spawn so they are moving up stream. Look for fish behind structure that impeeds their movement up stream. the other species will be fallowing them to eat their roe.

No more access along I-84, what is up with that?

It never has been legal, they just turned a blind eye to it. They are working on getting us some parking areas though. The area of this post is way below 84 so it is a non issue here.

Evil paintballers are to blame.

I noticed on the SE's date of the article it was July 24 2005. There is also a quote-
"Ryan Stokes, an employee of Angler's Inn in Riverdale, isn't sure how UDOT plans on offering alternative access to the Weber River.

"We can't get to the river from the other side because there are houses," he said.

Stokes would rather the prospect of recreation enthusiasts' getting ticketed didn't exist.

"That's garbage," he said. "They give us access and they won't let us park."

What's up with that? Is there another Angler's Inn in Riverdale again? I know Ryan, and last I heard he was working temporarly for North Fork Outdoors (Dave Scaddens new name) Or is it just a mis type for another shop.
