Drawdown Planned For Kansas Lake
BENNINGTON, KS— The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (DWP) has announced that Ottawa State Fishing Lake near Bennington will be lowered four to five feet to allow the DWP to check for damage to the dam this fall. The DWP says the lake could remain drawn down throughout winter while the dam is surveyed and repairs are made.
The lake will stay open to fishing and all normal activities during this time. However, boat ramps might become unusable as the water level drops. For more information, contact Eli Makings at: (785) 546-2565.
