Just sitting here writing my University Of Phoenix paper and thinking to myself .... What are some terms or words fishermen use that only we can understand?

I rattled off a few words and decided to post them.

Feel free to add to this list.
_______________________________________________________

"toad" ... we all know what this is, [except tomegun]

"backlash" ... when the line on your baitcast reel gets jacked up because you didn't set the break right.

"dropshot" it's a new way of catching bass with an old catfishing rig. Weight on the bottom, bait on top.

"mojo-ing" no it's not picking up on chicks ... it's what bassrods has introduced to us, an improved from of dropshot.

"slimer" These are the smartest fish out there. They eat cheese and salted playdough ... trout

"greenfish" Another name for the much heralded Largemouth Bass.

"Smallie" ... Yeah, if you don't know you better axe someone.

"pop-gear" ... How tubedude really catches his fish. It's a series of HUGE blades attatched to an +18" metal leader for catching a fish that loves cheese and playdough.

"Bucket Biologists" "Pieces Of Crap" who illegally put fish in other waters where they don't belong.

"Good Stick" This is someone who is a really good catcherman.

"floatilla" ... Still trying to figure this one out.

[cool][#0000ff]I think I just been "dissed". However, since the dissor is perceived by the dissee to be dissin' in the spirit of fun and games, the dissee gonna let it slide...this time.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Just in case you have not used the MAIN INDEX feature, to search out other BFT boards, there is a FISHING GLOSSARY board that has been alive and well for some time. I am sure that if you look back through the over 600 entries you will find most of your favorite "buzzwords"[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]And, by the way son, "floatilla" is an "insider's" term used primarily by tubers and 'tooners to describe a gathering upon the waters by us types what don't gotta get up on plane to get our enjoys.[/#0000ff]

Here's one for ya! "Bucketmouth"

This is the position your lazy good for nothing fishing partner assumes as he saws logs on the ride home after a long day of fishing while you stuggle to stay awake!

I wont add any of my words because I have a tendancy to curse and swear alot when i miss fish (not as much as when I golf though)

[cool]Hey watchit! I resemble that there remark! On another note, the definition of "Murphy's Law" would be BassAckward (Mike). From forgetting to put the drain plug in the boat before taking off from the marina, to forgetting the motor for the pontoon back at home, Mike defines Murphy's Law when out on the water, just as I often define skunked![Tongue][Tongue]

Okay, read some of the glossary and saw "SHAKER", "DINK" is probably in there too. How about this one - "PULLED MY PANTS DOWN"! I have a bud that uses this term when bass fishing with "texas" or "carolina rig", he gets a "strike", fails to "hook up" and the bass has pulled the "grub" or "tube" down off the shank of the "worm" or "G-lock" hook. Also, could there be a synomal relationship between some golf and fishing terms? I think I may have too much time on my hands today..........
Back to real fishing, I'll post my monday Strawberry trip report this week!

HAPPY FISHING!
