[cool][#0000ff]I've looked at them on a couple of websites but have not gotten serious enough to want to try one out. They are only 5 feet long and have less floatation than most serious 'tooners would like.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Here are a couple of links where you can get more info and look at a purdy pitcher or two.[/#0000ff]

TubeDude,

Do you know anyone who is currently using one? I would be interested in some actual user feedback too. I am in too comfortable seating no matter what I use, so I have my first question there. It needs to float me and my hindend.

[cool][#0000ff]Hey Mel, I am sorry but I do not have any firsthand info for you. My assessment, in looking at what is on the Internet, is that they would be comfortable, and they seem to be well designed. Hobie is a good name that has been around since early surfboard days. Their other line of boats is considered to be a quality line.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I don't know how big you are, but I would never make it in the smaller model (the 69). However, the 75, rated at 350 pounds, would do just fine. The price tag of $799 puts it up there higher than a lot of good pontoons though.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]By the way, your user profile says you are in Idaho Falls. That is where I was born and I still have lots of relatives scattered around up there. Maybe we can meet up on the waters up there somewhere next summer.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I didn't get much time to spend on your website, but I promise to get back in there after I get back from fishing later.[/#0000ff]

TubeDude,

Thanks for the feedback on the Hobie. I, honestly, have not seen one in use and I have around the Idaho lake fishing scene for many, many years now. I agree they look like they would be a nice unit. With costs up there in the $800.00 range, though, I am plenty comfortable in my SuperCat.

Give me a shout when you are up this way and maybe we can spend a few hours together on the water somewhere. Also, thanks for the kind words about my new website. Hopefully, I can help some of the Utah tubers with whats going on up this way. Happy Hook Ups!

I have a Hobie float cat and I like it so far. It is a bit minimalist as it comes from the factory, no storage or any way to hold an extra rod. I have since added rod holders and screw lid hatches and now have tons of storage inside the polypro tubes. It is fast on the water and very stable. I have been towed for hundreds of feet by black seabass and nearly pulled off the front of the thing by a 32 pound halibut in front of Dana Point harbor. Mine is the one with the 5 foot pontoons, I am 6 feet tall and 225 pounds and the thing floats me just fine. Hope this helps...
