Been pondering some of the latest and greatest in mono technology and was wondering what some of your opinions are on some of the alternative stuff, such as Cajun Red, Excalibur, Damyl, and others. I've been thinking more about abrasion resistance, casting ability, visibility, and knot strength. I have used Berkley Trilent XL for years, and have been happy with it, but there have been some interesting claims about the newer lines.

[cool][#0000ff]As I have stated before, I keep trying a bunch of lines but have never found any better for castability, knot strength and abrasion resistance than the Silver Thread Excalibur. I can still make the claim that I have never lost a fish to knot failure, line breakage or abrasion with the Excalibur.[/#0000ff]
