Any ideas, fellas? James at HFT showed me one but I'm not too hot with knots and following directions! Just kidding! What do you guys, and gals, sorry!, use or do you not even use it? Sometimes I try and get tangled up and increase the frustration factor. What about flashers or things like Swedish Pimples or Kastmasters above your hook? Or even Pimples and Kastmasters by themselves? Also, Fuzzyfisher - show me a picture of a rainbow tube jig. Have I reached my quota of questions yet? Oops, there's one more!

I will occasionally fish with a double rig. I usually use a bigger jig on top, with a small dropper. I know some guys go opposite. You have to lower the setup a little slower with the small jig on the bottom to try to avoid tangles. I personally will tie a trilene knot (with an extra long tail) on the big jig, then with the extra tail, I tie on the little dropper. You could also use a palomer knot on the top rig. I think both are effective. Sometime I just fish single...about 50/50. Can't say which method works better.
I used to use the kastmasters alot, although usually as a flasher. Over the past few years I haven't done it much...I really don't think they help (IMHO).

I have rigged a double with a drop shot weight on the bottom,a small fish fly up a foot,a bait holder hook up about 2 feet with a whole night crawler.Works for Rainbows. The drop shot on the bottom of the lake straightens out the line,so the take is easy to see.Caught some big Rainbows a Rockport this way.Use Polomar knot on the bait holder.
This a old set-up,simple and tangle free

I also fish with a double rig most of the time. Usually a larger jig (paddle bug, foxee, tube jig) on top and then tie a 10 inch dropper line off of that hook (the curve of the hook..not the eye) to a smaller jig (ratso, rat finkey, ice fly). I haven't had problems with tangles. I use a wax worm on one and meal worm on the other and always bathe them in smelly jelly.... I use trilene knots on all of the knots.

Thanks, Bigcat!
One other question - how do you keep the smelly jelly on the worms? When I squeeze it on, it comes off and leaves an smelly jelly slick on the water.

Mrlipripper,
I put a little smelly jelly on and kind of smear it on the jig and worms with my fingers. I know some comes off and leaves a smelly jelly slick on top of the water but some stays on and it probably leaves a scent trail all the way to the bottom. You want some to come off and scent the water to attract the fish. If you use a tube jig you can fill the tube with smelly stuff.
