Got a late start today for the pumphouse. Arrived at 9:00 to a full house. Only fished to 11:00 w/no bites. Talked to a lot of people with no luck. Only one guy I heard of found them inside the pumphouse gates. Met Hellsangler and I talked more than fished (thanks to him for taking the time). But very slow fishing for most people.[

I fished the pumps from 7:00 till 10:30. Not many fish around. I did manage 8 crappie, 1 perch, 1 tiny white bass, and 1 bluegill, but I had to look long and hard for them. I caught them on a chartreuse jig head tipped with a meal worm or crawler. Bite was really soft, strike indicator was a must. It was nice to catch the crappie. I have only caught one or two in my whole life. Kind of fun to catch four species in one day too. I really wasn't expecting that.
Talked to HA69, and met IceSled. Guess I missed running into you. Sorry you didn't catch any, but that seemed to be the norm today.
Was checked by a CO, and he said he hadn't seen anyone with fish. Nice to know they make a swing through checking licenses. Not much chance for finding any over limits today though.
Hope to get back there in the next day or two.
Time to prep fish for dinner!
Later!

I left with that smell that most had at the Pumphouse . Chester had a nice haul from the hard deck . A couple years ago I did well there but there was a lot of people on the ice today and deeper water . Icesled , Sorry for the ice cracking . Just getting to close on 2" ice makes all kinds of weird noises . Next time I'll get one or two on the hard deck I hope .

[#ff4040]That place has always been hit and miss for me on the hard deack. One year will be fantastic, and the next will be crappy. Wait that kinda goes from day to day also. I usually do better when it is not frozen yet, and throughout the summer months.[/#ff4040]
