The road in isn't plowed. I know that from traveling to Huntington this weekend. There was about 12" on H'ton though, so I'd imagine about the same at Electric.

Curious which road you are referring to when you state that the road isn't plowed? Also, be aware that Electric Lake freezes later than Huntington, and a week ago Saturday, at least down by the dam, Electric Lake was wide open.

i am guessing that it should freeze about the same time as Scofield. So I am hoping that there is at least 5" of ice.

They usually keep the roads plowed because of the miners and truckers going up and down the canyon. Also Fuzzy says you need a snowmobile to get to the dam side and the open side gets kinda dangerous for avalanches because of the steep hill there.

wow dude i do not rember saying that? .. lol
you would need a snowmobile to get in on the inlet side of the lake.. the plowes only plow the road to scofield not the last 2 miles down to the lake as you drive by that side..
now the dam side, the plowed road go's right by the dam.. you take the same road you take as if your going to huntington.. just go past huntington about 4 miles and your at the dam of E-lake.
i'm not sure if there is ice there or not.. should be getting close to capping but it is a deep lake..
if you go to the dam and give it a try.. walk across the dam staying on the north side of the dam the south side get's a lot of snow blowen on it and can be a avalanche danger.. but only if you walk over to the south side..
i might make a run up there some time this week not sure yet tho..

I hate to put the pressure on ya but I'm hoping you make it up before I go up on Friday. I am torn between Strawberry and E-Lake but I know how hot E-lake can be and I am taking a 1st timer up. If you head up soon let me know how it is, Please.....

I went to Huntington to fish. The road I was referring to was the one in to E-Lake. The main road over is always kept plowed. But not the road leading to Electric.
Snowmobiles were running all over the place up there, and I'm sure that would be a great way over to the lake. Otherwise, think about hitting Huntington. We had a great time Saturday!

Well if I don't hear from anyone then I guess I will take my chances. I think the odds are in my favore that there will be ice.
If not then huntington it is.
