Got to the port at 9:00 am and had my limit of perch and 1 very nice 17" rainbow (that had broken off another angler) by 10:30. I will post pictures later, I left my camera at the mother-in-laws last night.
I have to admit that I was skeptical of how the perch fishing would be this year with all the "die off/kill off" chatter that has been buzzing around the board.
My 2 cents is, that if there was a die off this spring it didn't hurt the quality because the majority of the perch I caught were in the 9" to 10" class . However I did notice that I didn't catch as many ( 1 total) of the little 4" dinks as I had the past couple of years.
So, if there was a die off it may not be apparent this year but could definitely be a reality the next.
