Tuesday's Fishing Report:
Capt. Ben had two trips for this day and both charter trips limited out on Speckled Trout. For his morning charter, he had five people fishing and they caught their limit of 125 trout. All on light tackle and all on a green colored fishing lure, no cork, and just a short boat ride.
For his second crew, his evening trip, he had aboard six people and they too caught their limit of Speckled Trout. The total for them was 150 Speckled Trout. Again on light tackle, green colored lures, no cork, and just a short boat ride from the boat dock.
Capt. Ben said that all the Trout were fat and that between the two trips he took out Tuesday, only three that were reeled in, had to be thrown back in. On Monday evening, Capt. Ben went fishing with a friend and within a hour they had their limit of 50 Specks too.
The trout are here! And if you are looking for a good time to go fishing, now's the time! The weather has just been perfect for being out on the water these last couple of days. The only thing you don't want to do is to go fishing right behind these cold fronts that are coming down. This seems to be the only time when the fish stop biting. If you come to Hopedale with your own boat, please be careful. There are a lot of objects under the water and with the low tides right now, it's easy to hit something.
For the ones that don't have a boat, call Capt. Ben for a guided fishing trip. For more information, you can call him at 985-630-2066 or visit his web site at www.louisiana-fishing-expeditions.com
Happy Fishing!
Sincerely,
Alysha H. Leto
