Has anyone been to East Canyon lately? What are the ice conditions like? Any fishing success...and with what? Also, where? I've usually fished by the dam....not too familiar with much else up there.
Going up Sat AM. Any info appreciated.
Thanks

I've heard the ice is safe, but will find out for myself tomorrow. WH2 told me he was up there last week and it was fine. The fishing was a little slow but he still had a good time. He also said there were a few people fishing by the dam. We'll be fishing on the
Taylor Canyon end by the pull off. Will post, hopefully with pics, when we get back.

I was up there Wed. ice was really thin around the shore. you could see where someone went thew trying to cross. there was nobody on the ice at all...left and went to rockport and the ice is fine there.
I don't know how it is east canyon right now, if this cold weather has froze it or not. I would take a plank just in case.
have fun and becareful. Hope this helped.

What area did you go to? When I was there a week ago the ice by the dam looked thin but the Taylor Canyon pulloff was fine, 5 to 7 inches. It was raining that day so it was very slick, maybe it has snowed since then, if not, ice cleats would be a must. WH2
