Fishing Forum - rockport ice question

] i was wanting to go to rockport possibly tommorrow to try to get some perch this but was wondering if anyone can tell me how thick the ice is as of now with all the warm weather we have been having. any information would be greatly appreciated.

When I was there on Sun evening there was plenty of safe ice. South end, by 2nd restrooms. No plank needed to get on the ice. I walked out in the tracks of an ATV. That is usally a safe bet. I always ice fish where I see other people. I know the ice is probably safe where they are and if it's not there are people near by to help or at least call 911.
Perch have been hit and miss this year at the Rock. Best seems to be 40 ft of water or so, right on the bottom.
