I just got the same unit x67c that I have set up for ice fishing, and I love it. I don't have it in front of me but I will do my best. Basically you have to have your sensitivity set correctly, and you can only do this once you get out on the ice. When you drop your lure down, you should be able to see it drop to the bottom, and always be able to see it as a line on your screen. one quick note, if you have played with it in simulator mode, ice fishing is totally different. In sim mode you are in a boat moving, depth is changing and the fish are arches. While ice fishing fish are more of a thick streak. kind of hard to explain without showing you. You also might have alot of surface clutter, get rid of that altogether. I can't remember if I did this by sensitivity or by setting it to ice mode. Also, one of the reasons that I bought the x67 was it had both graph and flasher mode. For me the graph is very real time (you can see the fish come up or down to your lure) and much easier to read. I do switch to the flasher but mostly out of curioisty to see on it as well. Another thing is turn your ping speed up as high as it can go. Thats all I can think for now. The first time I used it, it took me about three hours to figure it out. My main problem was not having my transducer pointed straight down. Once I got that fixed, and could see my lure, it was awesome. This is my first fish finder and have used it at Strawberry four times this year. I don't know how I ever fished without it. If you have any more questions please ask. When I get home tonight I will have my x67 right in front of me.
PS my freind has a vexilar and I like the x67 way better

one thing that i forgot to mention is the depth. Take the unit out of auto depth and set the depth manually to just deeper than you are fishing. e.g. If you are in 27 ft set the depth to 30 ft. good luck

I bought the X67c last year and then before I used it I took it back and bought the M68, which is the same sonar, only it has a built in GPS unit. I use it for Ice fishing also as described above. If you have fast internet connection, go out to the Lowrance Website and download the X67c simulator...it basically puts your new fishfinder on your PC and you can sit and play around with it on your PC till you are comfortable, then out in the real world, its all easy!
By the way, at first I dinked around with the setting, but the darn thing works perfect out of the box with all settings set to automatic mode...just make sure your transducer is pointed straight down!
