I've been too busy with other stuff to get online for a few days but didn't make it out fishing on Tuesday. Sorry about the late report but I guess it is better late than never.[Smile]

Weston
There was about 14"-16"?? (didn't measure) of ice where in the mid section of the reservoir. I fished it from 7:30am until about 12:30pm. The wait between bites was shortest the first hour I was there but slowed down when Acey and his son showed up.[Wink] We mostly caught planted rainbows but I didn't pull a few perch through the ice. None of the trout that I measured were 18" or better but a couple were close and almost all of the trout had a very healthy sized girth for their length.[Smile]
Here's a picture of the perch that I caught at Weston. The quality isn’t the best because it is from my cell phone.

Winder
There was about 13"-15" of ice where I fished several hundred yards from the dam. I was there from about 1:45pm-4:30pm. Fishing was fairly steady for perch. The perch from Winder ranged from 4"-10". I also caught a couple skinny snake like rainbows. I wasn't able to find any bluegills even though I tried several locations.[unsure]

I made my $82 donation to the Idaho F & G for the year and met Brian at Weston Tuesday. I guessed the ice was 15". Yeah, Brian was going hot and heavy when we showed up to drill our holes. The bite did slow down as it got closer to noon. Even though I couldn't out fish Brian, I did catch more than my son Joseph. He usually does better than the old man. It was a great day sharing the ice. He kept thanking me for taking him. He is used to catching the small planter trout in Utah, and is blown away every time he fishes in Idaho with me at the size and quality of fish there. One fish came unhooked just barely out of the hole and he dove into the water with his hands and scooped the nice rainbow out onto the ice. Thanks for the help Brian. You made it a great day. Acey

Dude, I am originally from ID. But, don't let that mistake on the UT proclamation make you turn your nose up at UT. fish. You should have seen the report on Strawberry last night at the Stonefly Society meeting. Not putting my home state down for the wonderful fishing, but try looking in your back yard. I could tell you several secret trophy waters.[Wink]

Hey why don't you tell of several secret trophy waters?!! For those of us who fish both...I prefer Idaho personally and I tend to agree more that Idaho has better quality both of management and actual fish and game.

I do agree that my home state has some great fishing. Now living in the neighboring I have to come up with that $84 to go back home. I am just saying that there is some places in the Ut to get some BIG fish. I won't be so bold as to post them but, I will PM them. And I do feel real optamistic about the Berry. The records are very impressive and I am going to give that mouse fly I have had forever a try this year.
I will say that it is too bad what happened to lake up there Brigham way. There use to be some killer trout in there and the Kamloops would have been huge by now if it wasn't for some fool trying to introduce a new species and the very warm conditions a couple of years ago.
