I am thinking about moving out west, and will probably take a drive out there this weekend or the next, but I was wondering what everyone that lives out there thinks of it? What is out there as far as businesses? I am sure there is a Super WalMart, but what else? Is there a reason to come back into the SL valley to get something or do you have it all there? How is I-80 in the winter? Anything you could tell me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rut

Patman and Deathman both live out that way. You could PM them and I'm sure they would respond to your questions. I work with alot of sheep lovers that live in Toole and they all seem to like it out there.[

I am in Stansbury and so far I like it. We do have wally world, but there is True value, Cal Ranch, Albertsons, Macy's (Smiths was here but moved out), checker, autozone, napa, parts plus. There is a cool little gun shop on Main Str with real friendly service (unlike waiting in line at Sportsmans) and very competative prices. We almost have it all, but there are a few things you need to drive around the mountain for (no muffler shop, no walgreens or rite aid), not many "clubs" if your into that, the sidewalks get rolled up almost everywhere in town at about 9 or 10 o'clock, but there are not as many snoby, wantabe yuppys like south davis county J/K! People are a little simpler out here.
Cheap housing (the south side of Tooele has a number of repo homes) is not the only reason Tooele county is the fastest growing Couny in Utah.
There is the complaint that they store toxic waste just over the mountain in Skull Valley, but I don't have any "extra growths" yet[

One of my good friends lives in downtown Tooele, and has for 9 years. He commutes on a bus to downtown Salt Lake daily. It isn't a bad commute at all most days. Better than commuting up I 15 from Lehi by far.
He introduced my to my girlfriend that he rides the bus with. She's in Stansbury and also works downtown SLC. This is a much easier commute that Tooele (about 20 minutes less bus time). I have found that both are much more friendly, open, and small town feeling than anything in SL, though it is only a couple of miles away. The people are very friendly and close.

[#ff4040]My uncle lives in Stanbury and he seems to like it. He just moved out there last summer. If you live there you could fish all the time too! That little lake they have is awesome, and full of big ole largemouth.[/#ff4040]
