That's awesome, the future of BFT.Hope you don't mind me showing the pic. My little girl was in the paper the previous Wed. for a teaser on the FL perch. It's great to see the kids getting the attention. I saw your picture in the paper and thought, "I've seen that guy before on Lincoln beach". Congrat's and that is worth atleast a weeks worth of chores[

Yeah we do spent a lot of time at lincoln especially in the spring.My wife had her pic in the paper last year also for a cat she caught.We do some overnighters there for walleyes when it gets warm and i usually am there right after work chasing those white bass.I have probably fished right by you and didnt know it.

We'll definitley have to hook up, hehe, planning on taking the the toon to lincoln beach after fishing my spots for walleye, maybe mid april. Never walleyed at LB, but some big cats are purring down there! How was the white bass down there last year? Not very good on northen end.

Some folks got into concentrations at a couple of places along the north end, but they never "went off" anywhere along the south side. Occasional flurries of five or six white bass was about as good as I could do, and I did not see the usual crowd harvesting at any time.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I also got into singles and doubles in a few spots along the west side, but never any real schools.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]There are probably several factors at work. First, the water was much higher last year than the previous three years. That altered both the spawning activities and the hang out habitat. Second, the lower waters of the previous (drought) years curtailed successful spawning. Fewer surviving fry results in lower harvestable numbers.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Another major problem many of us observed was the unregulated harvest of thousands of adult (spawning) white bass during the last year they were plentiful. Many of the potential spawners were removed in the fall months before the high water returned for them to spawn the next spring.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The good news is that most species of fish in the lake had a good spawn last year and there was a lot more food for the predators, like white bass and walleyes. White bass are among the more prolific species, so there is good reason to be optimistic that their numbers will return. Might take two or three years of high water to see the results, but it should happen.[/#0000ff]

Oh theres plenty of walleyes at lincoln at least there was last year.Also lots of nice size cats too.I dont know if it was just me but i did really good on white bass. But it did slow down as the weather got really hot though but it usually does anyway. We did really good at night fishing for cats last year and walleyes. Heres a few pics.

Those are some nice fish, I really like that walleye! My little girl just said "let's go there, dad" At almost 6, she's caught more fish than I did by 16. Can't wait for some warm weather!!!!

Hey one bait that really works great at lincoln for walleyes and cats are red shiners.I usually catch a ton at scofield and e-lake right after they thaw out.Also chub minnows work good to there.I dont know if you catch your own bait but when i load up your welcome to have some. Were are gonna have to get together and take the kids fishing there when it warms up a bit.Usually we have a big fire going at night to keep warm and roast marshmellows and weiners the kids really love that in betwwen the fishing.
