Saturday morning found us standing on a solid 3" of cap out from the marina at the Nellie. The bite wasnt fast but live-able and 3M did cap a nice bow. About noon we pulled up and drove over to the city camped out on the cap at Rock Cliff. Man what a difference temp wise it was between the to locations!! We yapped with several BFT'ers both in the parking lot and over the radio. And after strollin' across the cap the bitty bows offered us a little action so it was all good..

Sunday found 3M and I trippin' up to Pineview.. Ty1on joined the fun shortly after we arrived (it was good ta meet and share the cap with ya). We all managed to eek out a few pan fish.. All-n-all,, a fair weekend on the hard top..

[cool][#0000ff]Glad you guys got to bend your sticks and stretch your string. Even if the fish weren't "big macks", it is still action and still better than sitting around the house. Right?[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Did the new "trinkets" help 3M to catch more?[/#0000ff]

Right you are ol' buddy,, just about any day of fishin' beats setting around the house.. As for the "trinkets" 3M will have to chine in on that... As always,, your Roadrunners did us proud and provide a few chew-ables. Btw,, that nice Bow 3M iced was taken on a Bait bug....

[cool][#0000ff]Dare we speculate as to the location of those "latest piercings"?[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Ninnyway, I don't do kinky stuff. Well...not tooooo kinky anyway, big boy. At least not on the first fishing trip.[/#0000ff]
[signature]
Run out of hooks, so you had to resort to safety pins?
[signature]
[cool][#0000ff]Us old Idaho boys learned how to ketch fish on them thar safety pins, and a willow branch. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Any old ways, I got broke and cain't afford to buy no real hooks no more.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Only problem I got is keepin' the wackos away whilst I's fishin'. They all wants 'em to stick in their ears...and other places.[/#0000ff]

Reminds me of when I was a little kid (that be a few years back). A neighbor boy and I got excited about seeing some small fish in his parents' aquarium. We rigged up a small safety pin, tied onto some sewing thread, and we went fishing. I don't recall that we caught any fish out of that small aqarium, so I guess Utah boys weren't as good as you Idaho boys at "safety pin fishin".

[cool][#0000ff]Just a word to the wise, Junior. Be careful what you admit in print on this forum. We have a "history" about people getting in trouble for mentioning live fish in aquariums. Don't know what the statute of limitations might be, and how much proof would be needed, but be careful. Be very careful.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I am guessing that took place in the days before you became skilled at jig fishing and vertical presentations. I am sure that you would do much better these days.[/#0000ff]

Not to worry, my senior friend, the last I heard it was legal to have goldfish in a home aquarium. Even if they were something a little more risky, one would hope that the statute of limitations would have run after 50 years, plus they would have to dig up the owners to give them a ticket, and that seems just a tad extreme!
[signature]
[cool][#0000ff]You weren't specific about the species. I hope they were not raising goldfish to use as live bait.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I know you to be an honorable and law abiding sportsman. I would never presume to suggest that you would do anything in violation of our easily understood proclamation.[/#0000ff]

LOL,, first someone would have to be able to come up with the actual regs from 50 years ago.. And while possible is it worth the effort?
And if so that's like tell G-pa he'll get a ticket for using live mice to fish for bucket mouths 50-60 years ago. The problem as I see it would be delivering a ticket if it was an infraction to use such bait at that time.. He passed away more that years ago.. [laugh]
But, knowing that old fart I'm sure he'd get a huge kick and chuckles out of someone dropping a ticket off at his grave stone,, me too. That would be a citation for framing [laugh]

[cool][#0000ff]Wow, this thread certainly took some left turns since your original post. Maybe we can come up with some kind of prize for the most diverse and twisting (not twisted) thread somebody puts up.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Ya know, sometimes when I read stuff about the wierd laws in some states, and how officers and judges interpret them, I wonder if anybody has ever tried to issue a ticket to one of our "dearly departed". Wouldn't surprise me.[/#0000ff]
[signature]
Oh I have no doubt but its been tried. Whats more,, and later warrants for their arrest were issued when they didnt show up in court! LOL..

Sorry for not replying sooner, it was nice to meet you and 3M on Sunday. Thanks for drilling holes for me. I ended up with 17 perch, smallest 5" largest 10". Had a great time. Those people watching/helping me fish were from Veracruz, Mexico. East of Mexico City on the coast of the Gulf. I think that woman had as much fun as I did. Once again it was nice to meet you both and hope to meet up with you again
