I am interested in making a run down to Quail Creek and Sand Hollow this spring to try the bass fishing. Any info on when the best bite is, maps, best areas, lures, or secrets you are willing to PM? Thanks, Acey

Hey Acey, that's a great idea! I guess you already know what I know. I would like to get into the crappie, I understand they start in about a week or two and go for about a month. Let me know if you get some good info.

[cool][#0000ff]Got a tubin' trip planned down there around the first of March. Gonna dip some slabs outta the trees at the upper end. Of course, I won't complain if I get to rassle with a couple of the big ol' bucketmouths in there.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I know where it is, and have driven in to it a couple of times...without tackle and in windy weather. But, still looking for a good map of the area myself.[/#0000ff]

If you want crappies try Gunlock......

Bassrods- I have never been to Gunlock, but I have seen it on maps. Are there any camping facilities there? What time of the year does the crappie fishing turn on down there? Is Sand Hollow open to fishing now? Thanks for the info. Acey

It gets good for them in April around the 15 give or take...
It is a state park with camping and boat launch ...And is good for tubing....
Sand is open year round and good fishing as long as you find the fish...
