Someone has left a nice pontoon boat in the water ( now 20" of ice ) At the Soldier Creek marina. There has to be a good story behind this . Does anyone know It?

Ya, my son and I snowmobiled up to it about a month ago and had a good giggle... we later reported it to the Phillips boys who were quite suprised and a little chagrinned... They tell the story of a rather wealthy California retiree that ordered this pontoon special made last summer- without any railing on the bow to accommodate his fly fishing habit... he rented a slip for the summer, and when fall came and the Phillips' removed the docks for the winter they simply tied it to the gas pumps for what they felt would be a shot stay until the owner came back to remove it for the winter... oops!

Anyway last report was that they were trying to contact the owner to confirm that he was still breathing and if so try and recoup some over-time rent on the slip/docking fee. Everyone's quit sure that the 90 horse merc is toast and possibly the whole thing is a total loss- oh-well it's only money and those Californians seem to have plenty.

Kind of a harsh lesson in Utah wintering...PB

My family is up there all the time. If we had only known what was going to happern we could have pulled the boat out of the water and left it in the parking lot, or some where.
It's hard to tell but it looks like more than the motor is toast.
