I am new to this site so I hope posting this won't get me in trouble but Fins & Feathers in Coeur d'Alene has a Salmon class that costs roughly a $100.00 per person and includes a night of instruction where Guide Jeff Smith will chat with the class and instruct everyone on exactly how to equip all the basic items needed to catch salmon. The best part is the following day everyone in the class will go out with the guide and rig up all there own equipment, under the watchfull eye of the guide, to test out what they have learned. This is meant to more of a learning experience for everyone than just a guided fishing trip since on a guided trip the guide usually does all the work and you can learn a lot, but on this trip you will so much more. Especially since some guides, in the area but none at Fins & Feathers, are known for being WAYYYY to secretive on what they are using and how they are doing it. For more information on these classes contact Fins and Feathers at 208-667-9304. Classes are filling up fast so don't waste any time.

Welcome to BFT PikeFish. Thanks for the info. That sounds like it would be money well spent for both the instruction and the fishing experience. When did the classes start and when will they end? Do they do this every year?

The classes are actually tonight (Friday the 24, there is a opening left) and then they go for the next 2 weekends. I know the other two classes are pretty full but if anyone is interested in learning the "tricks of the trade" call Fins & Feathers at 208-667-9304 for registration information. They do these classes each year and each year it seems we have to add more and more classes due to the popularity. So anyone interested should NOT wait to call and see if you can get in. If you are a local here you can get into tonights class as of the writing of this.
