My son and I fished East Chicken Creek today, only one other group there the entire day. We landed 22 with several long releases and a couple of break offs. It was pretty good in the morning and slowed after 11:00. Some slush but not too bad. The snow has melted down a little and it wasn't too bad walking. It rained most of the day. White tube jigs tipped with minnow or green maribou worked pretty well. We were in 25 feet of water and most fish were on the bottom.

Road wasn't plowed any further than the little parking lot there. Here's the pic, don't know what happened on the other one. By the way, if anyone catches a fish at the berry with an eagle claw ice pole with a silver reel attached to it, I claim it. While taking care of business and not right by my pole I heard a splash and sure enough it was my pole headed to open sea. My son was inside our shack and watched it take off on the marcum. Luckily I had a spare with me! The only bite all day that the fish hooked itself and it had to happen at that moment.

Twenty two fish, good day on the water for ya. What a bummer having your pole pulled through your ice hole, I will keep an eye out for it. Its been too long since I've been up there I think I will go this weekend.
