Fished Jordanelle today from 1 to 6 PM with my three kids. Launched from the PWC ramp, no dock when I went in, but they put it in by the time I pulled out. All the south main lake is open, and about a third of the Provo arm. Water temp is 38 degrees. I downrigged for big browns without success, however, I couldn't get to my favorite spot for the browns, so I did some exploring with the Lowrance and marked GPS with a couple other areas that look promising. We did catch and release a couple dozen 10" rainbows near the surface. Interestingly, I was not marking many fish on the graph, probably because they were scaring out from under the boat. After an hour of long-lining some rapalas and not getting a hit, I threw on the trusty Off-Shore planers to get the lures off to the side 30-40 feet, and starting hooking up a rainbow every few minutes. Nothing photo-worthy, but a fun day on the lake with the kids, great weather, and a taste of the good spring fishing to come.
