]We fished utah lake saturday. We first fished around lincoln beach. We marked alot of fish by the fruit orchards. But no bites. We then went to the provo boat harbor fished around the dikes still no takers. Water temp was a balmy 37 degrees.

Dont feel bad me and the kids and a few others had the same luck as you.Its just a matter of time before the fish turn into feeding mode.

[#505000]I had grandios plans to break out some gear this weekend and try to see if I couldn't score my first cats/eyes of the season. However when this front(s) blew through I figured it would turn the fish right off. By the looks of reports I was right. I guess that just goes to show there is a first time for everything. Maybe I should point this out to my wife that once in awhile I am right!![/#505000] [

[cool][#0000ff]When I got into some cats the week before, the water temp got as high as 47 degrees in protected areas by the end of the day. That 10 degree drop is BIG with fish. They will sometimes turn off with only a two or three degree drop.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]37 degrees is even too cold for walleye spawning. They like it above 43-45.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I guess we just have to wait out Mama Nature. What a mother.[/#0000ff]

[cool]Other than tomorrow (rain/snow predicted) it looks like the rest of the week will have a little warming trend into the weekend. Saturday is looking like 50 degrees and cloudy. I know the water temps probably won't be up to 47 that TubeDude had last week, but hopefully it'll be higher than the 37 of last weekend. Here's the latest forcrash: [url "http://www.ksl.com/?nid=88"]http://www.ksl.com/?nid=88[/url]
I'm gonna give it a shot anyway on Saturday. Sounds like the bubble-up is out with that Lindon Walleye tourney happening, I'm sure it will be a city of boats around the bubble-up. I'm heading to Lincoln I think...

What was the depth of the main lake as you approach Lincoln Beach?
[signature]
[cool][#0000ff]Lots of 12'-14' water on the "flats". The rock shelves are from 5'- 10' deep. All three of the springs are under a lot of water.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Right now, Utah Lake is about 2' higher than the highest point it reached during runoff last summer.[/#0000ff]
[signature]
[cool]Wow! Makes ya wonder how high it will get in a month or two when the runoff REALLY starts to come down the mountain!
[signature]
[cool][#0000ff]Some info I got was that it will not be able to get too much higher. It is almost to the top of the control boards at the pumphouse at the mouth of the Jordan River.[/#0000ff]

I know a way to test and see how long and how high the water gets there. We put cement shoe's on Geoff (Out4Trout)and drop him in the water up to his neck. Then see how long it takes to drown him.[

] Sorry Geoff I love you and all but,This sure sounds like alot of fun too.

[cool][#0000ff]Cement shoes? That is sooooooo last year. I would expect you to come up with something kinkier....something involving carp or something.[/#0000ff]

[font "Comic Sans MS"][#ff4040]I'll most likely be going out to Lincoln on Saturday also. I will look out for you tubers and tooners. [/#ff4040][/font]

my friend hit provo boat harbor yesterday on his boat, and he caught a 22 inch walleye, and a 16 in bass.

[cool]I've got a better idea-how about we turn you upside down and tie you to my tube and use you for my sonar this Saturday? The water is a nice 37-40 degrees right now, so it's not too bad. Whatta ya say, Mike?
[signature]
Hey you stole that idea from me. Remember how I wanted to use you as my aqua view over the winter. So come up with another one buddy.
[signature]
No, as a matter of fact, I don't remember that at all...[

I guess the icey cold water did a number on your brain along with other things!
[signature]
[cool]LOL! Let's get out to the freakin' lake already! If I don't go walleye chasing soon, I'm gonna go insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is it Saturday yet?
[signature]
What do you mean by gonna go Insane. I know you are have been there for some time. First friday nite buddy then saturday morn. Oh are you going to stay at myhouse after the sportsmans show?
[signature]
Geoff, I have been meaning to ask you- what the *$&@! kind of fish is that in your avatar pic? Talk about ugly! Is that a catfish or something??
I'll be coming down to Utah Lake here in a month or so, and I still owe you some waxies. We'll hook up with my brother and he'll show us how it's done. I swear he's the UL fishing guru.
I'm sure there is still a cap on Mantua can you believe it?
