did anyone else go to this? i went and enjoyed it quite a bit. having talked to sockeyslayer quite a bit i already had heard a lot of the things they were talking about. that being said, i still picked up a few things that i will try out. the flaming gorge guide that was there gave a lot of cool info on the lake trout. and as usual the shasta guys gave a lot of info on the kokes. all the guys were very willing to answer questions, even afterwards.
did any of you go to it? what did you think? will you try their techniques? why or why not? i already have and will continue to use shasta tackle as part of what i do on the gorge and other lakes.
oh ya, i wanted to add that the turnout was amazing. there must of been close to 150 people there! great job sockeyslayer.

I was also in the crowd. What a turnout. I met Kent of NSL and Jared "Sockeyeslayer". Both friendly as expected. Was also just feet away from the "infamous one" TD and TB. Was going to yell and shout at em but I didn't want to interrupt there yacking. Believe I seen Coldfooter also?
Hats off to Jared. He came over and introduced himself before the class started. I've chatted with him on here and felt like I've known him just by talking fishing. What a guy. Thank you.
Hope to talk/meet more BFT folks this season. I've been here and there but havn't put to much on the boards for a long while.
Have a Powell report from two weeks ago if any of you are intrested?

[cool][#0000ff]Yeah, TIO (The Infamous One) and his "child bride" were in attendance. We picked up a lot of good info. Thanks a bunch to Gary, Jared and Kyle. Good show. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Got to meet a few fellow BFTers but recognized (and didn't recognize) others that we did not get any "face time" with. They shoulda had a BFT reserved section. Big oversight. Don't let it happen again. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Now...how to rig an outrigger on my tube. Also, how do I maintain 1.8 to 2.5 mph with fin power? [/#0000ff]

I was there also. lots of good info.

As Fishman noted I was there. Said hi to Fishonlynch, and saw Coldfooter and the three Ms. Also saw TubeDude and TubeBabe. Visited with Luckybob and his son. I got there plenty early, because I figured it would be crowded, and I made a wise choice. Embarassed myself before the show even started, because Jared (sockeyslayer) called me by name, as we walked into Sportsman's, but for the life of me I couldn't come up with his name. Sorry Jared for my rudeness. Learned some valuable information from all three presenters and increased the profits for Shasta Tackle before leaving.

I was there as well, and agree with bkidder, nothing groundbreaking but a good refresher and gets you in the mood to hit the Gorge. The one thing I found most interesting was the blue colors working well at 100' in the late-summer. Something I will definately try this year. Nice discussion of why kokes hit a lure when they don't eat fish as part of their diet. I forget to ask while there, so maybe a BFT'er can answer, I use the Shuttle-Hawks, but always lose the stops. I haven't seen spare stops for sale - has anyone seen those?
Thanks for a good show Jared.

I was also in attendance. For those of you who use a shuttle hawk, how do you know when the line has reached the stop?
[signature]
It stops taking line. It is a little hard to tell because the forward motion of the boat will also strip line, however, the Shuttle give a more pronounced pull, also, it doesn't hurt to have a line counter on your reel.

Hey Tube, on my way home from the class last night, I was picturing you runnin two digi-trolls on your fat cat with no problems at all.
As far as the trolling speeds, you should be in very excellent shape using fin power by the end of this season[
]!
Looking forward to a floatilla with ya and Babe and all other BFTers.
Let's ger er done!

ive seen them in cabelas catalogs before, but cant seem to locate them online right now. some scotty downriggers use them to flip a switch as they come through the pulley (short stop feature). i believe that is the purpose cabelas sales them for. i'll look some more and edit this if i find them.

Thanks bkidder - found them here: [url "http://www.boatersworld.com/product/789774.htm"]http://www.boatersworld.com/product/789774.htm[/url]
None on cabelas.

I was there too, picked up a couple good tips, I was shocked to hear the mortality rate on kokes released 80 to 90% If that is true I"ll never let one go again.
[signature]
good work pisci, im sure you wont be the only one ordering a few! ramp- i saw a while ago, i think on doug miller, that the mortality rate is that high. the dwr really wants us to catch our limit of kokes then switch tactics to go after small lakers.
ive noticed that the kokes go crazy, when you first boat them, and flip everywhere. i think this fools a lot of people into thinking that they are fine.(so they release them) but, a few minutes later something happens and they start bleeding from the gills like crazy. i usually try to get them in the cooler before this happens to save a big mess!

I was there too (on the front row) learned lots of tactics to try. Maybe now I will catch those elusive Kokes. Good job on the seminar Jared![

I made it but was a little late so I got as close as I could to hear . Slightly crowded but enjoy the presentation .
[signature]

That is kinda where I was on the east side and behind .
