Locally you can check out the beer nut ( www.beernut.com ). online I've had good luck with www.midwestsupplies.com . I actually bought my kit off of ebay for $45 or so, but found them cheaper locally at Ace hardware in Roy. Most of the basic kits are the same with minor differences, and they probably all work fine. You can always upgrade later to a secondary fermentor, grain mill, mash tun, etc. I personally haven't ventured into all grain brewing, but I would like to eventually.
One thing that I would definitely recommend is getting one or two large stainless steel kettles to boil your wort in. I got my 20 quart kettles from Reams for less than $10 apiece. I'd also recommend using either a camp chef type of stove or a turkey cooker setup. It just takes too long on the kitchen stove for my liking.

I bought my stuff at Ace in Roy. Your alittle to late Mountian Brew went out of business and liquidated all the stuff. Matt is right the beer nut will be your best bet. I just bought my Keg system there and I love it. [cool]

Do you want to use extract or are you going to jump right into all grain and mashing?

Let the poor guy crawl before you put him into a marathon. Start with the extract. It will give you a good starting point, then for there the skies the limit as proven by RipNLips

Is that 20 quart $10 kettle stainless steal? If so you got a killer deal.

Yep, 20 quart, stainless steel. Not really heavy duty, but no problems so far. I have two so i can boil the extract in one, and steep the grains in the other. Works pretty slick. I think it's a seasonal thing at Reams, around canning time, but they may have it at other times too.

So I don't drink beer, but my girlfriend's ex left behind boxes and boxes of stuff that she says is a home brewing kit, and she wants to get it out of her basement. I just told her a couple of days ago that I could probably find a buyer for it, and now I see this post.
Anyway, if anyone is interested I will go dig through the boxes, see if I can tell what all is there, and update it on this post. It will be up for offers.

Hey, let me know if you are. I personally have no idea what it is worth, but she might. If you have something you want to trade again, let me know. Also, let me know if you want to get that battery box....
