HARFORD COUNTY, MD-Pennsylvania angler recently caught a new Maryland state record yellow perch while fishing a pond in Harford County.
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources confirmed that angler Phil Deer Jr.'s 3-pound, 5-ounce, 16/-inch perch is the largest ever caught in Maryland and the fourth largest on record in the world. The state's previous record was a 2-pound, 6.75-ounce fish caught at Deep Creek Lake in 2003.
