Just put a Sportsmans 9 pontoon on lay away today, going to pick it up next week.[
] I can't wait to get it and trick it out, I have a Eagle Fishmark 320 fish finder that I am going to put on it. It has a built in rod holder and an aluminim cargo deck on the back with a motor mount and anchor thingy[crazy]. I am upgrading from a TU Kennebec, the bigger toon sure will be nice to fish the bigger lakes and get around quicker, I'll have to get it down to utah lake to catch some Walleyes if they ever start biting.[

[cool][#0000ff]Waytago, Bro! I am sure you will enjoy your new ride. I also jockeyed a Kennebec for over a year. It was better than the donuts I had been using, but not as good as the Super Fat Cat I have had since. Those big round pontoons on the Kennebec are murder when the wind comes up. Tough to navigate in the breezes.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]We have several Utah members that pilot those Sportsman craft on local waters. Everybody seems to be happy with them. They are definitely a good value for the buck.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I am just finishing getting my Fish Cat Cougar set up and should have it out for the maiden voyage within the next week or so. I am also looking forward to being able to go farther and faster with oar power. I will also be adding an electric motor.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]PS...walleyes ARE biting at Utah Lake now. I am tubing Lincoln Beach Thursday morning to dredge up a few. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]You need to stay in touch with us tubers and tooners and get in on some of the flotillas we do during the year. Lots of fun and a good way to get a look at how others have their rides pimped.[/#0000ff]

[#505000]I gotta ask.... I was at Sprotsman's today and they have two model of the Sportsman's 9. The actual Fishcat 9 an outback craft, and they had a Buck Bag model also listed as a Sportsman's 9. [/#505000]
[#505000][/#505000]
[#505000]So you getting the Outcast one or the Buck Bag model?[/#505000]
[#505000][/#505000]
[#505000]I have the Outcast model and have really liked it. It's a fine fish catching machine. I am also making big plans to upgrade my flaot tube and use it a lot more this summer on "smaller" waters, or places it's a paint to get a toon too. [/#505000]
[#505000][/#505000]
[#505000]I think back to Tubedude's hike with Leaky on Mantua and wonder if he would have done that with his Cougar!!! [][/#505000]
[#505000][/#505000]
[#505000]I've had a similar experience with my toon and decided it certainly wasn't worth the effort packing all my pieces one by one what seemed like a mile to the fishing hole. [/#505000]
[#505000][/#505000]
[#505000]While I'm here asking questions I was going to ask you Pat. On the cogar does it have the built in rod holders like the Fishcat 9 does?[/#505000]
[#505000][/#505000]
[#505000]I bought a second one today (while at Sportsman's) for the other side and have designs to use it as a sonar mount. I'll provide pics if I can get it to work.[/#505000]

]Hey there FLy Goddess, Big browns are my specialty, I just hope I can go fast enought to troll up at Jordanelle and I can catch some brownies, I cought a 7 pounder there last year along with many in the 4-5 pound class, I was in my uncles boat though. I am in college and so I can't afford a boat so I hope I can catch some out of my toon, My uncles is so busy that we don't get a chance to go out in the boat much. I would rather catch a Brownie than a walleye any day.[
]
I am getting the Fishcat model.

[cool][#0000ff]No factory tubes on the Cougar. But, I have a retrofit design (surprise) that will get the job done nicely. I am just about ready to launch it. I've got the cartop rack done and I'm working on the rod tubes.[/#0000ff]

[purple]Hunt4BigBucks, I got the answer for your trolling in the tube in the sale section of BFT. It would be perfect, all you need is a deep cycle battery and a minn kots 30. Of course you have to license it, but that is under $20. a year. FLOAT POWER. [/purple]
[purple]Either that or join me in the wonderful world of fly fishing, then you don't have to troll.[cool][/purple]

build a sail for trolling. cheeper and lighter than a motor. lol

Congrats on the toon. I just took mine out today, first time since Feb., Water temps are starting to warm up. Where is the first place you're going to take it?

Jordanelle or Sand Hollow, is where my maiden voyage will most likely be.
