Connecticut opens today as well. Really, there is only a couple of species that open today (the rest have no closed season). Also, today is the day that one of my favorite lakes opens. I know Rhode Island opened up last week.
Unfortunately, I couldn't make it out today[]
I'm going to see if I can't make it out for a couple hours between church and dinner tomorrow[]

Here in Utah, there is no closed fishing season, we can fish 365 days a year[], which means that I can get skunked 365 days a year []. There are specific waters that may close for a specific time to protect the spawn, but there is always a place to fish. The Division of Wildlife Management is trying something new (and good) this year. All fishing licenses used to expire at midnight, December 31. Now fishing licenses are good for 365 days from the date of purchase. I think that it makes sense and is a good idea. Tight lines!
