to let all know... i waited around for 35 minutes LOOKING for a spot... this small pond is full to the brim with cats and trout....but there is no where to fish for them.... any way i risked walking out on a log that was on top of the reeds.... just to get my cat bait in there... a few minutes of balancing on a wet log.... and whamm cute little 17 inch channel.. and a nice soaking.... i set the hook and fell backwards off the log,,,, yea water up to my waiste.... suckes..
so i was done fishing off of this log... i was walkin around lookin for an opening... and i met TRollinfool??? is that right.. i thinks so... anyway he squose himself and his kids between the other 20 poeple fishing this 30foot open bank..... finally a spot opens up back in the "kitty" corner... so i slide up in there and sink some bait...

left an hour after dark.... I caught 6 channel cats all from 17 to 24inches... and my buddy caught 4 channels all the same size range... i also cuaght two rainbows and a brook trout ???? on chunks of chub??? not sure why they hit it but... hey i didnt care...!!!

Nice fish. Can you use wader or tube to avoid the traffic?

When me and yper were there last week, i fished for bass first off with a 3" Riverside paddletail bass jig and caught a big brookie. I caught another one later on a large worm. They are very agressive, and very ugly!

The only time i've had to deal with combat fishing like that is up steelheading on the salmon river! Oh well another time, mabey my boys can reel in a couple of those big cats HEHE! Cya round.[Smile]

Nice Utcatman, sounds like an overcrowded local pond. Where is Glassmans Pond, anywhere near Salt Lake?[Smile]

Thanks for the link.
There are far more little fishing holes around here than I knew of.
Looks like some good places to that the grandkids when they are here.

I was talking to a guy from the DWR, and he swears up and down that they are actually LAKE TROUT in Glassmans. I know that sounds ridiculous, but that's what he said.

I grew up swimming and fishing in that pond. Of course that was long before there were any houses around it. I've attached a KMZ file for anyone that has Google Earth installed. Google Earth will fly you right to the pond if save the KMZ file to your hard disk and then double-click it.
