I bought a Happy Troller & it mounted right up to my old '69 OMC.
All I had to do was mark & drill the holes. Took about an hour countin' smoke & coffee breaks.

I have something called a louver troll on my boat. It is made buy a guy in Idaho Falls. It is spring operated so there is no pin. When you put the motor in reverse the louvers open up and you can back up with no problem. I have tried other trolling plates but this one really works well. I use 2 drift socks, one on each side, and I do a steady 1.5 to 1.7 when ingear. I have a Volvo 190 IO.on an 18 ft Crestliner. I know they cost about $140.00, but I never need pins!
