Hey guys, I'm heading to A.F. this weekend and thought I might ask the pros who fish on Utah Lake where the best areas might be?
My brother and I will probably try for some kitties on Sunday- the weather is supposed to start getting warmer by then.

Any input will be much welcomed!

Thanks!

[cool][#0000ff]You didn't mention whether you will be boating, banking or tubing/tooning.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Should be some channels, bullheads and white bass inside the harbor. Also some largemouth and/or walleyes, depending on activity and water temps.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Best action in the AF area right now is along the edges of the muddy current coming in from the American Fork River. Lots of white bass and a few walleyes.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Please do not keep all the white bass you catch. They are distressed in numbers these days and need some relief to rebuild their populations. There have been reports of the "usual harvesters" leaving with huge stringers of whities. Not good.[/#0000ff]

Thanks TD!! We are just going to fish from the bank. Which harbor are you talking about- AF Harbor?
Your advice helps a lot, and don't worry...I always release what i catch.
You should meet us down there!

[cool][#0000ff]I haven't fished AF yet this year. Might have to do that. I was thinking of a trip to Willard, but could change plans. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]If you see a tube full of rods give me a wave. I'll come visit and lay some stickers on ya if ya need 'em.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I understand that the action inside Lindon has been good for cats, as well as outside when the wind is not blowing (WHEN?????)[/#0000ff]

I think I will try Lindon BH on Saturday and even pony up the cash and go inside. I hope I see some fellow BTF'ers there. TD, in the earlier morning, say 7:00 or so, where in the harbor would go you to fish from the bank?

[cool][#0000ff]If the wind is blowing, fish inside, at the southwest corner or along the last 100 feet of the west levee before the opening. Fish on the bottom, with no weight, using crawler, minnow or carp meat. Shrimp works well too.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]If it is calm, try the outside off the north levee, (where the big piece of culvert is) on the outside of the flooded reeds and brush. It is snaggy, so use a bobber and hang your bait about 3 feet under it for starters. Vary the depth until you get fish but no snags. Sometimes the fish are close to the dike. Other times you have to keep casting to different spots to find them. [/#0000ff]

Thanks TD for the specific information. I need to get out there and give that a try.
