[#0000ff]Pineview is typically much better when the water clears after runoff. I haven't hit it yet this year, but usually about the second week of June it gets good. You can get them under a float or by casting a tandem rig of small jigs right up to the stickups or along the bank. Guys with the long crappie "dip sticks" do well in float tubes by just reaching out and slowly sinking small tubes beside cover.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The heavy snow pack and resulting long runoff may have some delaying effect on the best crappie action.[/#0000ff]

It should be any day now!! typically I get good stories of crappie as pine view reaches its fullest point. Look for the Crappie in the areas of submerged roads. Ratso's are hot at this time, White or Chartreuse on small 1/80th or 1/64th oz. jig heads. Crawfish or Anchocey smelly jelly makes a big difference. Also small marabou jigs of the same color 32nd oz or smaller. Fish them below a lead weighted bobber about 2 to 3 feet.
Give it a shot this warm weather should turn them on!

I hit up pineview the other day and did really well on the smallies caught about 10, all in the 12 to 14 inch range. I also managed to land one really nice crappie, unfourtunately that was all the crappie I caught. The smallies and the crappie were both landed with a chartruse paddle bug 2 feet under a bobber. I have fished consistently for a week up there and the only real productive spot is Anderson cove. Good luck!

My old standby Crappie jig for Pineview is a pink head and a small green curly tail jig and a bobber.
I have a question about Pineview.
Does the Utah State Park Pass let you launch a boat, or are there any fees to put a boat on Pineview?

The state parks pass will not get you into pineview. They will sell you a season pass to get into pinview only for around $90.00 and its only good for the season not a full year like the state parks passes are. I think the cost to launch a boat for one day is $8.00. It could be less if you walk in or if you just want to park you car and do not have a boat.
