Full Version: Spring Lake dredging is under way

I drove past Spring Lake the other day and snapped a few pics. The dredging has finally begun, but they sure seem to be moving at a snail's pace though!!

And here is the shallow marsh area north of the road. This little pond has fish in it (bass, green sunfish, maybe carp and catfish too, who knows) and is the key to the fish coming back after it is refilled, besides DWR restocking:

I went to the lake this morning and watched them extract a D9 Cat from the mud. It was stuck pretty good and it took a big front end loader to pull it out of the mud. I go down there every day and "supervise" the project. I'm not sure they will ever get all that mud out. It is nice and dry on top but mucky soup 3 inches down. Smells bad too. I just hope Payson City does a good job. I'd like to see it look something like Salem Pond when they are finished.

Thats good news ! Hopefully they make it deep enough to hold plenty of water like salem pond.
