Hello TKB,
Thank you for your frank feedback of the new ad program.
Let me just clarify a couple of things. In our effort to continue to try to offer users the best possible site and provide the best possible value for our advertisers we are exploring new options that we think might make sense for users and advertisers. This is one of those times. We are exploring options that would allow us to post less banners, increase site [#000000]load time[/#000000] and still deliver the quality of value to our advertisers.
The new program you see is a test and we are just exploring the possibility of implementing a system like this. We respect yours and all other users thoughts on this and would just ask you to bear with things for a week or two until we test the possibilities. We welcome all feedback and can control many aspects of what words are targeted and what words are not, also how the program is implemented (if it is at all, after [#000000]beta testing[/#000000]).
We do care what you think and would ask you "if we were to implement a program like this what guidelines would you like to see" and if you really just think it is a horrible idea then we also understand and will take that into account when we make a final decision.
Please just keep an open mind and bear with this while we run some tests.

I see your point Mike. I think it has merit, but those darn things drive me insane (pet peave)! Of course, I'm lucky and have broadband, so I don't mind all the adds, but I can see where it would be very helpful to those on dialup connections. All-in-all it is probably going to be a good move for BFT. Thanks for the followup. What was it that Mr. Spock said..."The good of the many, outweighs the good of the one..." or something like that.[

Hello Guys,
Thank you very much for keeping an open mind!!!
We will most definetly consider everyone's perspective of the new program before any final decsisions are made but want to test if it will even offer advertisers simlair value to banner advertising first.
We relize we can't please everyone but we really try our best, and sometimes a bit of testing is neccessary to get a real feel how things will work.

I'd like to add my 2 cents here too.
I think it would definitely speed up the site load time if it had less banners, which is obviously a good thing. However, to me, it is more annoying to have a window suddenly appear and hide what I was reading when I mouse over on one of those links by accident. Then it takes a sec after moving the mouse for it to go away again. I guess it's a tradeoff. If it does get implemented, I think I'll just have to train myself to watch it and to not let my mouse pass over any of those.
From a marketing perspective, I personally am much more likely to click on one of the google ads or the banner ads on the side then I would be to do anything with these new types of link ads.

I have a comment about this, don't have every outdoor word have that popup. like camping, fishing, outdoors, stuff like that is not needed. maybe like brand names of rods lures ect..., what ever our advertisers have to offer should have the popups. just my dime

i personally find them very annoying. Pop-up's only give me the desire to not frequent websites that employ them. When i want to purchase something, then i click on links that offer the product that i am interested in purchasin at that particular time.
I am somewhat unique in that aspect, i guess...can definitely understand the concept from a marketing perspective.

These things are buggin' me. I would rather look at an ad thanaccidently move my mouse over the wrong word while reading, adds on the side I would read but funky green words I avoid. Seems to me like a way to avoid advertising. Not that it would bother me to be ad free but seeing how this is "free" I would think sponsors would rather keep the ads.

It would seem that the "mouse-over's" are here to stay....despite the input...oh well...such is life

Ok. If these things are here to stay the should be, at the least, relevant to the fishing site. I (accidently...again) moved my mouse over the word reels and it said something about wire and cable. I don't really care but it's like when someone calls and asks if you WANT something from THEM. If I WANT something I'll call YOU.
If I want info on cable reels I'll Google it. I changed my mind, I do care. Mouse-overs have got to go.
