Got a late start today got on the water around high noon, took my wifes cousin out,and we had a good day of catching,It was his first time out after the wipers and he is hooked,e said he didn't want to even fish for a slimer ever again.
we boated 21 wipers today,we did troll for the first hour and it wasn't producing for use so we put on some Gold/black back rapalas and started to cast the shoreline about half way up the north dike, and that was the ticket it wasn't fast and furious but a fish about every 5min,My sister and there friend s came by and I pulled them down the dike with us they said why aren't the fish biting, right about then I caught five fish in about 5min,they still couldn't hook up but didn't give up,they didn't have the gold and black rapala's but I bet they get some.
here's some pics of the bigger ones we caught.

Good job on those wipers. Still havn't made it up there for em this season.
Were you throwing just original rapalas "floaters" or were you throwing countdowns?
Sounds like there hanging in tight to the dikes. Look out crawdaddys, wipers are coming to get ya!
I remember a couple years ago trolling along the north dike. I was using a Norman Little N crankbait in crawdaddy pattern and would just let enough line out so it would plow the bottom just a little and it worked awesome. I thought about doing it after we boated a couple a wipers out in the middle that spit up craw legs and parts into the livewell. Worked like a charm and was one of my best wiper days on the pond.

Nice report Tony, sounds like a great day, thanks for sharing. It's always fun watching when those newbies catch their first wiper. Did you get any big ones?

Great report, now don't you think casting for the Wipers is about a hundred times funner than that trolling crap? Its good to here you caught them in the afternoon. I was starting to think it was only a morning bite for casting.

Way to go Tony. Are you able to get that

off your face yet?

Sorry for not getting back sooner guys,It was the small 2" model Rapala and it did sink.Caught most the fish throwing it in close, letting it sink and just jerk it and then let it sink ,then jerk it again,By the time you where out about ten feet from the dike they would nail it.When I caught the five in a row I was throwing it in tight and ripping and jerking it as fast as I could it was right on the surface and a few fish blew up on it but missed them, and had fish follow it all the way to the boat, but both tecniques caught fish.
WH2 all the fish we caught except 4 where over 20" 2 fish where over 23".
And MGB,It is just verly starting to fade,I need to get back out there and get it going again[cool]
Skeeter,I always have liked to catch wipers casting,There is nothing better I think,I did try the spot you fished during the tourney and caught four, the boat traffic sucked so we went back to the north dike.
