The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) approved a total-length measurement regulation that goes into effect July 1. Anglers must measure snook from the most forward point of the head, with the mouth closed, to the farthest tip of the tail while it's squeezed together. Since total-length measurement adds about 3Ú4 inch, the FWC is expected to increase the limit to a 27- to 35-inch slot for the fall season. A final decision was not available at press time.
