Fished Silver Lake Flat Resevoir yesterday from 6:00am to 9:00am before I had to go to work in the afternoon. There were not very many fish rising but still managed to catch about forty fish. All were planter rainbows except one skinny brookie. I fished flies near the inlet. There were one or two fish caught by the bait fishermen. The forest service guys were there handing out tickets to those people camping within 1/2 mile of the lake.

Where is this place? And why can't you camp within a half mile?

Its up above Tibble Fork Res in American Fork Canyon. At the parking lot of TF you need to go through the gate and make a left. About a quarter mile up the road there will be a sign for SLF, make a right and go up the dirt road about a mile or two, and you'll run right into it.

The water is so high right now the fishing is kinda screwy for bait fishermen. We used to fish on the east side of the damn but the water has hit the tree line. We fished it a couple of weeks ago and didn't do very well. What used to be a dirt bank with no vegitaion is now exactly where you cast. I'd say that the lake is easily 10-15 feet higher than last fall.

It is a beautiful place though.

I don't know the reason but the Forest Service does have signs up saying no camping or fires within 1/2 mile of the lake. There were several groups ignoring the signs.

Did you get any pictures of the lake?
