Was getting things ready to go to the gorge this week and noticed that I had no power in the boat. the radio was left on and the battery was dead. It is an interstate battery 3-4 years old. I put the charger on last night and just checked it and it is still charging. It has been 24 hrs and the meter says it is about half charged. Is this normal for rv/marine deep cycle to take this long to charge or do I need a new battery?

[black]Depends how many amps you charging with. At a 2 amp trickle charge, it can take a week or more to charge up a dead battery. If you are charging at 10 amps it can take a couple days.[/black]

There was a very good discussion a while back on charging batteries. Here's a link to it:

It's possible that you killed it, but if you can, check the water level in it. Make sure you remove the charger first. I'd also check it with a meter.
