I fished a team Tournament on Saturday, at Milner. It was tuff to find the big fish, but we managed to take fifth place and $650.00
We would of had third but was docked for one dead fish. That was the first time that I have ever had a dead fish in a live well at a Tournament, hopefully it's the last time!
The fish are moving into post spawn, making it harder to get the big females to bite.
We caught a lot of Smallies, with changeable craw being the best color of choice. The best lure was the new 3-1/2" reaper rigged weedless with a 1/8 oz split shot about 18" above the reaper.
If you are planning a trip up there this weekend, then you may want to wait, because there is a speed boat race there this weekend.

[black]Congrats on the placing; too bad about the dead fish. It's nice to go fish a tournament and pay all the expenses! It's also got to be somewhat satifying knowing you did it on lures you designed and created. Again, congratulations, James![/black]

It was very satisfying to do so well on one of my creations, especially when you can get paid to fish!
Thanks Rich!

Congrats on the tourney win. Too bad about Mr Dead Fish...happens sometimes. How big was your big fish of the contest?

Where can I pick up the changeable craw? What colors work at pineview, and how should I fish it?

I really don't remember the exact weight of our biggest fish or the biggest of the tournament. Our biggest was only about 2-1/2 lbs.
The big fish were hard to find!
You can't buy the reaper that I was using, we are still waiting on the production mold to be finished.
Hopefully it will be done by the first of next week.
When we have some baits done then I will post a pic of the bait for you to see. You can however buy the old style hand poured 3-1/2" reaper in changeable Craw at Smith and Edwards or on my web site.
Good luck and good fishing!
