Hit Chatfield Friday evening with member gofish, formerly from Utah. With it being a holiday weekend I expected crowds, crowding, etc. Boy was I surpised! Very few boats and lots of courtesy. It made for a very pleasant evening.
We caught a number of walleyes from 16"-17.9" but no keepers and lots of smallmouth, but nothing of any size. Most were on leeches. It was a great evening to be on the water.
The Park Rangers were out keeping things safe. We saw them pull over 2 PWC's and they circulated among boats at dusk asking them to turn on their nav lights. They were very courteous and professional. Personally I like to see them with a very visible presence out there. Makes things safer for everyone.
Enjoy your holiday!
