Good morning,

First thanks Brian for introducing me to this group!

Went to my first opening day at the Hagerman ponds. WOW!
I had never seen so many canoes and kickboats and tubes in one area. Most were fishing for bass and a few were after Bluegil.

I'm not sure about the results for the efforts of all the rods and reels flying but mine were satisfying. I caught 10 palmsized gills on my own black foam beetle and a few smaller ones and lots of misses. I just love hearing that slurping sound as you fish along.
I fished from about 7 to 12:30 then it just got to hot.

I have tricked out my kickboat a little and was working out some of the kinks and testing my $2.00 yardsale Humminbird fish finder out. It worked just fine, thank you Lord.

All in alll it was a great day fishing!

Thanks for the report and welcome to the board idahopanfish. Catching bluegills on the surface is about as fun as it gets. I should check out more yard sales. Sounds like you got a great deal for only $2.

First of all welcome to the board.[cool] The idaho board needs all the help it can get recruiting people. It is alot funner and more informative when there is alot of people chatting and swapping stories. I hope it takes off like the utah board(my home board). You should check us out when you get board. Many Ut people post about ID but not on the ID board. You can pick up some tricks and information from these guys also.
Second, what ponds did you fish? I lived in Twin for 6 years and fished Oster lakes on a regular basis and did very well for trout but not too good for bass. I remember a friend wanting a certain pond to open so he could fish for bass, but i can't remember what the name was. I remember a rest stop and restrooms where he pulled of the highway but that's it. Keep the posts coming and tell many people about BFT![cool]

I believe the pond you are refering to is call West Pond and infact a good friend caught a 21" bass the Sat. and quite a few other nice bass as well. He goes there often and was using a black rubber mouse.
