[center][font "Arial"][red][size 3]My wife, Natalie, and I got invited to go with some friends to float the A and B section of the Green River this weekend. We definitely jumped at the opportunity since we have never fished or been on the Green! They say there is 8000 fish per sq mile on the A section and I believe it. It was like a giant aquarium, tons of fish always swimming underneath your boat. Fish of every size and color. [/size][/red][/font][/center]

[font "Arial"][red][size 3]We went with a fun bunch of people. While fly fishing is just not my bag and still isnt. It was fun to throw some pocket lint for the weekend. Fishing was not hot by any means. Alot due to the hot weather and also the tons of rafters enjoying the weekend on the river. Our group caught around 35 fish for the weekend. [/size][/red][/font]

[font "Arial"][red][size 3]We had a great time drinking, swimming the river, cliff jumping and just plain floating. [/size][/red][/font]

[font "Arial"][red][size 3]We took off below the dam on Sat morning, and headed for Little Hole. Stopped at Little Hole to pick up our camping gear at the truck and continued Saturday for Grasshopper #1 camp on the B section. Sunday we got up and took our time completing the B section. [font "Arial"][red][size 3]Sunday night we stayed at Mustang Ridge Camp ground with full intentions of cliff jumping at Flaming Gorge on Monday. After waking on Monday it was an impulse decision to run the A section again. [/size][/red][/font]

[font "Arial"][red][size 3]I definitely hope to run this river again, hopefully with more of a flow. Nice to beable to jump out of our pontoons into the crystal clear cold water in this heat. There is not a dull moment on that river, it is beautiful all the way down. Great experience![/size][/red][/font]

It was worth every second of the hassle. I am by no means a convert to fly fishing, but I am anxous to learn alot more about it for my next visit! Sounds like a great trip Rob. I'm glad you guys had a good trip, and that the toon treated you well. I've never been on the Green, but one day I will make it down there.

Hi Rob. We were at the Green all last week. I took a guide boat down the B section on Wedensday. We fished the Gorge several days and I caught several baby Mac's, a first for me.
You will want to also try some tube jigs when you float the river next time.
The river fishing was very hard this trip. My best action was at the top [just below the dam] in the evenings.
Sounds like you are now hooked on the Green and the Gorge.
So am I. We go every summer.

[black][size 3]I love the Green ! The "A" section is one of the coolest aquariums around. I usually don't even fish that section anymore - I just float and enjoy the scenery there. The dam area can be kind of a zoo on the wrong day.[/size][/black]

[font "Arial"][red][size 3]Saturday as we were getting ready to launch, Trout Creek flies brought down every raft they owned for a church group and a family reunion. For about 2 hours they were launching 2 at a time every couple of minutes. The river was log jammed. We waited for them to leave before we took off. [/size][/red][/font]
