I have caught bullheads but no channel cats down there
is there evan any in that area of the river.

Get into Ogden Bay bird refuge and fish the canals. There are monsters in there if you are patient. Take lots of bug spray though and a can of mace for the skunks and coons. no guns allowed on the wma. Hint: Go all the way down 12th street to the "sportsmans access" sign and drive to the gate and walk in.

I have spent many long nights out there and caught hundreds of catfish to 9# in recent years. Up until this spring my best cat (8# 13 oz) was caught out there. Let me know how you do.
