We were invited to go to Grantsville tomorrow afternoon. I've never been there, but from what I've heard, there are mostly planters there. What the best thing to use from the shore? Is it the standard powerbait and/or worms with marshmallows? Also, where is the best place to fish there?

[black]Grantsville has mostly planters, but there are the occasional larger fish in there too. Bring the appropriate attire, sun screen and bug juice - it gets really hot there and sometimes if it is not windy, there are bugs and absolutely no shade.[/black]

[black]From shore, fish the west side where one of the two inlets from South or North Willow creek come in. Most of the planters are there. Or, if you want, walk around to the south west dike area and fish the deeper parts - the fishing might be slower, but you have a chance a a larger fish there. You can also fish the whole shore line, it is not very big and you can find fish just about anywhere.[/black]

[black]Use power bait in some kind of green color(like spring green, lime green) or what ever the other folks there are having success with. Worms can also be effective depending on weather and water temp. [/black]

Send us a report when you get back.
I live in the area and I would like to know how it is out there. I haven't fished out there in years.
Now that I have the poontoon, I would like to try it again.

If you want to fish with artificials, I've had good luck out there with a gold and red Jake's lure. Panther Martin spinners also will catch the fish there. Most of the fish there have just been paroled from the hatchery, but there are some nice rainbows and even a smaller number of browns.
