Hi all,
I'm heading out to the Mt. Nebo area with a youth group this week and we'll be fishing at the Payson Lakes. Has anyone been there recently and had success? I think we'll have a canoe and raft, but most will be shorefishing.
Thanks in advance for any tips.
Chad
p.s. Here is a fish from our last outing at Trial Lake...My nephew caught it all by himself.

Looks like a better than average fish for up there[cool]

The last time I was up there several years ago we did well with standard powerbait chucked as far into the middle as possible. I used a bubble filled all the way with water and 1 small split shot and that did the trick for casting a country mile. Good luck!

My brother was up there a couple weeks ago. Said he did well while "creeping a crawler".

Was there Friday and Saturday last week. I didn't fish much, but did take my four year old out on a raft for about an hour and he caught two. He was shouting to anyone who would listen on the lake about it too[
]. Some of the others in my family were a little more serious about fishing though. They caught a bunch on powerbait (lemon-twist). The area they had the most success was on the East side about midway up the lake. My brother also caught a bunch trolling a little orange flatfish in front of the dam and down the east side.

Thanks guys, these tips are amazing. I really appreciate the feedback on this forum...everyone is great and it's such a valuable tool for people like me who can't fish very often, but would love to. My fishing time is so sparse and valuable, I often don't have the time to experiment on new waters, because I can't "afford" to have a bad fishing day since they're so few and far between.

p.s. Attached is a pic from when my wife and I went to New Zealand and threw some flies in for a couple of hours. This was the average size fish we caught in Lake Rotorua.
