Curious i hear people fishing at night is that permitted? If so is it permitted in every lake or state?

Kurve,

Mead definitely allows for night fishing...and the night fishing for stripers is excellent. Gov't Wash in the Boulder Basin is great for camping and fishing. However, keep in mind that it gets extremely hot there so I'm not sure if you're going to be able to bear the tempurature during the day.

I typically do most of my night fishing on the AZ side of Lake Mead. Specifically, at Heron Point and Monkey Cove, both of which are located at Temple Bar, AZ. It's a long drive but the fishing is well worth it.

Good luck!

Best regards,

Paul

Oh...this pertains to both shore and boat fishing. You can fish Mead at night so long as you follow the U.S. Coast Guard and state regs. Specifically, with regard to the appropriate lights on your boat.

The other thing on the Colorado river, you will need a Nevada lic. with an Arizona endorsement, or an Ariz. Lic with a Nv endorsement.

By the way, welcome to the site, some pretty good regulars here, but it get's a bit slow at times, I tend to post reports on this board from wherever I happen to be fishing no matter if it's in NV, Ut, CA, or Mex. so keep them reports coming.

It is about 10 minutes past the dam. It doesn't take long and is a pretty good time. Good place for rainbows if thats what your looking for. Haven't found the stripers yet but will be looking this weekend.

It's not far at all although keep in mind that it will take you some time to get across the dam during the day. Lots of tourists. That's why I only cross the dam at night or very early morning hours. I've heard many good things about Willow Beach. You can catch some monster stripers there. Good luck!

[Sad]No, dont go to Willow beach. The fishing isnt any good and theres a crowded boat launch ramp. Fishing is lousy.

Wow Steve...that's awful. I typically hear good things about Willow Beach. Personally, I'm looking forward to my 9 day fishing trip at Temple Bar in mid-October. The weather will be perfect just like the fishing. I can't wait. I'm counting the days...

Best regards,

Paul
