It seems like Huntington and E-lake get all the attention in that neck of the woods. I was out working there today, and wondered about some of the red-headed stepchildren in the neighborhood, and what they were like. For example:
Boulger Reservoir
Beaver Dam Reservoir
Fairview Lakes
Rolfson Reservoir
Little Madsen Reservoir
Miller Flat Reservoir
Potters Ponds
Cleveland Reservoir
How come these never get any attention? Are they that lousy for fishing? Or are they that good for fishing?
I saw fish being taken from one of these, and plenty of surface action on a couple others, but I'm in the dark about the rest.
By the way, I drove a long stretch of Huntington Creek. Now...why haven't I fished there before? Good lookin' stretch-o-river!

It is nice to see plenty of water in those reservoirs. You left Gooseberry off of your list and I can't remember the little pond that one drives over the dam to get to Fairview. In previous lives I have fished Gooseberry, Fairview, Millers Flat, the pond on the way to Fairview and Cleveland. Fairview and Cleveland held some nice fish. Gooseberry, Boulger, the pond on the way to Fairview and Millers Flat had smaller but plentiful fish. Fly fishing early in the morning or in the evening can be great on all of those lakes.

you also left out cc pond or some call it benches pond. grassy lake the soup bowl, and some others i cant think of just yet.. oh yeah sclfield and Joe's valley are there about as well.
the reasion most them lakes and ponds dont get much attention here on the board. they are plant and take fishery's.. and most are very small and can not take hot spotting!!!!
all the lakes up there (except E-lake)are planted through out the summer so fishing for planters is allways good on most of them.. only 2 of the lakes that you have listed have a chance of a big fish in them! and that would be cleveland and fairview lakes!
i do not fish Fairview lakes when they make you pay to park.. to many other lakes to hit up there that are free!
cleveland is recovering from and drain down 2 years ago to do some repaires on the dam.. it should be getting some nicer fish growing in it by now.. but i have not heard anything of any size comeing out of there lateley..
one more reasion might be E-lake is one of the only lakes up there you can put a bigger sized boat on.. and of corse Huntington has the big tiger trout in it..
thats just my take on it.

You also left off petes hole ,mary's lake, snow lake and warner lake and blue lake. There is also some good stream fishing in the area in addition to huntington. But as fuzzy said most of these waters are put and take with exceptions of joes valley, scofeild, cleveland and I believe petes hole has some carry over. there is also a walk in only lake (easy hike) 1to 2 miles above petes hole I beleive is called angels which is deep and has a few carry over brook trout (I don't believe it's stocked) It's difficult fishing however due to the abundant leaches in the water. (to much food for the small population of fish. However all of the above mentioned places are very scenic and can be enjoyed with out great fishing. Just my 2 cents worth. Lonnie

Benches Pond is the same pond Kent was refering to. I have fished Bulgers on many occations either in my float tube or wading in the inlet end of the late. fishing can be real good at times. Problem is, the lake is very small and only about 1/2 of the shore line is fishable. (the far side, away from the raod, is too mossy). Gooseberry is a larger lake and can support a fairly large boat and there are some fair sized Cuts in there if you know where to find them. I think they kind of spoiled Gooseberry when they created the campsites and now charge you to go there. We used to be able to back the truck right up to the edge of the lake and fish out of the back of the truck, (if you wanted).

Hey Bryan long time dude!
i agrey with ya on the camp site at goosberry! i fished that lake for years.. but i will not pay to fish it any more! same as fairview lakes i will not pay when there are so many other places to go that are free.
your are right about it being able to handel a fairly large boat! but there is no bout ramp and now no way to get close to the lake to hand launch one very easy ether.
so for those here on BFT do not take your big boat up to Goosberry thinking there is a boat ramp to launch from!
