Went up to Kolob this last week and fishing was tough. Talk to a few others who were experiencing the same. Buggers don't seem to work like htey did in the past. Not sure if this is good or not but the lake is full of shiners thet were boiling every where. I don't know if the Utah wildlife knows about it yet and if so what they plan on doing if anything. Did catch a few but not he same as a nice rainbow.

Thanks for the report. Thinking about heading up next WE. Were they cruising in the bays? Could you see them from the road? Were the baitfishinsonsabitches tearing them up? Big dipper still in the wrong place. The water was pretty murky wind blew most the time we were there (whats new). I heard better fishing in the evening with parachute adams or BWO but the wind blew every night so not much for dry fly hatches. Might try a PT 6 or 8 inches down in evening. Also caught 1 with purple leech. The cattle are still up there so tou may have company. Not many people so none of them sonsabitches you mentioned but be on the lookout they may be there when you go up.....Rex

vegas -- shiners have been in Kolob for many years. They were there prior to the regulation change. The DWR has known this for a long time.
Fishing goes in cycles. If it was always easy, I don't think we'd enjoy it as much...

Thanks for the shout back! That is our Copper John catching English Setter - Hunter. He is a great camp partner as he never asks me to do any thing & likes all my cooking. Never asked for a beer eithier! He dos'nt paddle the canoe though, as he has no thumbs (thats what he says , anyway)! I think we will make a run up to Kolob this weekend. Will report back later. That one of me fishing is up at Kolob when the water was down 2 yrs ago. They have Guzzler maps at the NDOW on Vegas Dr. We shot those near Nelson past Searchlight.

Thanks for the info I will get over to NDOW and pickone up I have heard it is pretty good hunting by Searchlight. I thought that was Kolob. Seems like I caught a few more fish when the lake down. The last couple of years with the lake level where it is just havn't done as well. My buddy went to Minersville last weekend they said they slaughtered them lots of nice 18-20 with one at 22. I have never been there may have to go give it a try.
