Decided to try Willard again last night. We had hoped that with a couple days of stable weather, the fish would be in the herding mode again. Well, we did see one small boil that lasted about 30 seconds, and I had one hookup from the sloppy seconds, but it was lackluster to say the least. So we just moved along the dikes casting lures. We ended up with a nice variety of fish, just not many. A couple wipers, a couple smallies and a few kitties. This is the first time I've managed to catch any decent smallies out of there. One was about 11" and the other was almost 14". My bro-in-law picked up 3 decent kitties on a small rat'l trap. I was surprised they were being that aggressive. There were surprisingly few boats out last night, especially for a holiday weekend. Not sure if the major boils are done for the year, but heck, we may give it another go before all the upland game hunts get fired up.
