Friday, 09/01/06: Late Report- Hit the water at around 5pm, wind and waves! Had to share the coves with recreational boaters seeking shelter from the wind, and calm water in the coves. There was a boat making tight circles in Hole 33 towing a load of screaming kids, stirring up the place pretty good. They were having a great time! Out in the channel the scene repeated itself with other boats. We fished a few points and scratched up a couple of stripers using poppers and spooks. Near dusk the wind calmed a bit, our rec boater friends moved on and we managed to fish a couple of nice boils. Ended up with twelve stripers in the box, two around three pounds! Back to the marina by 9:30pm. A great evening on the water.
Tuesday, 09/05/06- Hit the water around 5pm. Slow evening of fishing around the Hole 33 area. Ended up with seven in the box. No real boils tonight, fish just slurping the surface here and there. Caught all stripers using poppers. Near dusk the wind started picking up. On the return trip to the marina, I was treated to a great lighting show over the mountains of Arizona, with a bright full moon shining through. I'd post the pictures but I don't know to make it work. Off the water just in time to feel the wind begin to rip across the Boulder Basin.
